Anna Lassonde, believes art is to be enjoyed by everyone no matter what skill level, and there is an artist inside of everyone!

She works with acrylics, watercolor, and collage at her studio in downtown Detroit Lakes, MN.

Anna lives on a farm with her family and animals, who are a constant source of inspiration.  Although she loves to feature all her animals in her work, the chickens are particularly inspiring because of how inquisitive, curious, and interactive they are. They often accompany Anna around the farm and showcase their different personalities. Because of her love for animals, Anna especially enjoys creating pet portrait commissions and capturing their antics, moods, expressive eyes, and beautiful colors.

Anna has illustrated two children’s books, A Day in the Bog with Frog and Dog  (by Carol Grina 2021) and Seraphina the Ballerina (by Dawn Duncan 2022).

Her most recent mural in summer 2023, is a nature mural with insects that can be seen at the Becker County Museum in Detroit Lakes. In addition to making art, Anna provides private lessons and creative classes for all age groups. Sharing art is her passion, particularly with those who do not have an opportunity to practice art.
