The Manoomin Arts Initiative is a collective that energizes arts-centered cultural vibrancy through ongoing initiatives for adults, families, and youth.

We are a diverse group of community builders, advocates, and artists. We want to wish a Happy Indigenous People’s Day to all of our Indigenous friends, neighbors, and relatives.

Mahnomen library has artist created tabletop canoes on display and city Hall lobby features two of large outdoor canoe sculptures.

The outdoor canoes are expected to be installed across Mahnomen in June!

Did you know, Mahnomen has one of the oldest Wild Rice celebrations in Minnesota?
This Proclomation come from September of 1938, putting this year’s festival 86 years since the start of Mahnomen’s Wild Rice Days!
